Trailer work

I was able to replace the trailer tongue.  Installed a new 3" x 4" tongue that is harder than woddpecker lips to drill.
I decided to use a plate and U-bolt system similar to newer trailers instead of welding the tongue to cross member like the original .
Now I need to mount the chains and this part of  job is done.  Over the winter I will replace an axle and add the brake system.
Next task is to repair the rudders.
and replace the brackets (rudder heads)
I decided to go with the aluminum heads.  They seem to be a stronger design than the original ones on Wind Wager.  And I did not want to invest a $1000 to replace all that a stainless steel head would need.  I do plan to work on a new design for next time.  New heads will be here Friday so maybe Wind Wager can go back in the water next week.

Thought I would add more Albemarle trip pictures.

That's All for Now,
Tom
